Alkimos Eglington

New figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show Alkimos Eglinton has the highest population growth rate in Western Australia , up 10.2 per cent in 2019-20. The Northern Coastal growth corridor takes in Alkimos, Eglington, Yanchep and Two Rocks, areas that are serviced by Tower Security.

So what makes it such an attractive place to build a home and live? “It’s a community within itself,” said City of Wanneroo Mayor, Tracey Roberts. We’ve got good sporting facilities, there is retail, there is something for everybody.”

And how did it get its name? Alkimos is named after the shipwreck of the Greek freighter Alkimos which ran aground off the Eglington Rocks in 1963. Not a good coast for the ship but a great coast to live near!
